KPOGCL to trigger economy in KPK, hopes Hoti

PESHAWAR - Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti has said that the establishment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil & Gas Company Limited (KPOGCL) is a landmark achievement of the present provincial government, and it will pave the way for the progress and prosperity of the province. He said this while chairing the inaugural meeting of the boards of Directors of KPOGCL in Peshawar on Monday. Senior Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Rahim Dad Khan, Additional Chief Secretary P&D, Secretary Finance, Secretary Energy and Power, Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs, Commissioner Kohat, Vice Chancellor University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, Rector GIK Institute of Technology and Secretaries, Ex-Managing Director OGDCL, Islamabad, Director National Center of Excellence in Geology University of Peshawar and other members of attended the meeting. In his address to the meeting, the chief minister, who is the chairman of the board, also said that the establishment of KPOGCL was a milestone achievement of the incumbent provincial government adding that it will help make the province self-sufficient in the production of Oil and Gas; and as such overcome the acute shortage of energy not only in the province but in the country as well. Secretary Energy and Power gave a detail presentation on the background, vision, objectives, organization structure in will propose budget of the company, is business plane, accusation of human resource for the company and other important matters. The meeting unanimously approved the constitution of human resource committee, technical committee, audit committee and finance committee for the company; and decided that members of this committee will be from among the board of directors of the company. The meeting, besides the financial matters of the company, discussed in detail the matters related to the appointment of chief executive officer, executive directors, secretary and other staff of the company, its registration with Pakistan Petroleum Exploration and Production Companies Association and other issues; and important decisions to were taken to these effects. The meeting unanimously decided to empower the technical committees of the company in the eternal management to ensure better performance of the company. It also decided to have the headquarters of the company in Peshawar with the chief executive officer as its head.
