PML-N MNA Chaudhry Asadur Rehman, elder brother of former Supreme Court judge Khalilur Rehman Ramday, has denied the allegation of his brother’s involvement in poll rigging.
Commenting on Imran Khan’s allegations against justice (r) Ramday, the MNA said that in 2008 elections when Mr Ramday was serving judge of the apex court, he had faced defeat. “If he did not support me in the 2008 elections, how he could help me win the election in 2013 when he was a retired judge,” said the MNA talking to reporters at Kamalia on Monday.
He added that when his brother was a judge, he (Asad) used to meet him after several months. He said the PTI candidate in NA 94 constituency was so unpopular that he could get only 2,700 votes. He said that his nephew and Ramday’s son Mustafa Ramday had resigned as advocate general due to his personal engagements and the criticism against the Ramday family was quite unjustified.
