ISLAMABAD : An avalanche has martyred four soldiers while 22 others have been rescued after heroic efforts by the Army. According to ISPR, about 26 troops came under a huge flow of snow late on Tuesday night near Astore in Gilgit Baltistan. Despite extreme weather condition, 22 soldiers were evacuated by the rescuers. The injured personnel were shifted to Skardu military hospital.
A blanket of rock and snow, covering a huge area, slid over the base near the northeastern city of Skardu early Wednesday morning, according to security officials.
