Good governance national priority: Shujat

Lahore - Poor execution of the National Action Plan is an issue of governance which was correctly pointed out in the recent meeting of the Corps Commanders chaired by COAS, said PML president Chaudhry Shujat Hussain.
He was addressing a news conference in Sialkot yesterday.
He emphasised that governance is a national priority not the priority of any person or party.
Chaudhry Shujat Hussain further stressed that the existing level of bad governance was a threat to national security. He stressed that good governance had to be a common priority that cemented civil-military relations and further strengthened foundations of Pakistan.
Chaudhry Shujat Hussain warned that vested interests and mischievous distortion were creating unnecessary rifts. Replying to a question, the PML (Q) leader added that the all parties conference on security formulated the National Action Plan that contained 20 different actions, the majority of which had to be implemented by the civilian government.
He said the failure of the elected government to deliver on its commitments, the issue of governance was rightly highlighted by the military commanders.
