Petition against Sartaj Aziz filed in SC

ISLAMABAD: A constitutional petition against the appointment of Sartaj Aziz as advisor to Prime Minister on foreign affairs has been filed in Supreme Court (SC).

The petitioner, Syed Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi, has filed the petition under article 184 (3) of the constitution. He has made 11 institutions and persons including Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, Sartaj Aziz, secretary cabinet division, secretary establishment division and secretary finance respondents in his petition.

He has taken the plea that Sartaj Aziz has delivered addresses in national assembly and senate. “The record of these addresses should be summoned. Bans should be imposed on him for participating in any official ceremony and he be sacked from his office. Reply should be also sought from PM Nawaz Sharif,” he said.
