Pakistan, Sri Lanka decide to enhance defence cooperation

Rawalpindi: Pakistan and Sri Lanka day have decided to enhance defence cooperation. This understanding was reached during a meeting with High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Jayanath Lokuketagodage and Federal Minister of Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain.
They exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and enhancing cooperation in defence production. Pakistan has always proposed futuristic defence cooperation to Sri Lanka.
As one of the largest suppliers of high-tech defence equipment, Pakistan played an important role in assisting Sri Lanka to defeat terrorism, said Rana Tanveer Hussain. During the meeting it was discussed that Pakistan has offered a lot to Sri Lanka in terms of defence products. The cooperation ranges from small arms to heavy weapons.
Rana Tanveer Hussain also tried to resolve the issue of financial constraint on part of Sri Lanka, which is hindering Sri Lanka to buy heavy products from Pakistan .He, gave two solutions, usage of unspent credit line or some organizations may provide finance to Sri Lanka on soft terms. High Commissioner of Sri Lanka mentioned that Pakistan always helped Sri Lanka when there were lots of embargoes imposed on Sri Lanka.
