Some four dozen turncoats who changed their political loyalties have reached the National Assembly after the general elections.
The Punjab province taking the lead, sent 39 turncoats to the Parliament, followed by Sindh that elected 5 turncoats while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elected 2 members. Balochistan is the only province with no turncoat in the new National Assembly.
Out of 39 turncoats elected to the National Assembly from 148 general seats of Punjab, 36 are from the PML-N and three from the PTI.
The PPP sends two men who switched loyalties before elections from Sindh to NA while one each is from PML-F, MQM and PML-N.
The two rolling stones who made their way into the National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are elected on PTI ticket.
In Punjab, the politicians who reached the Parliament after joining the PML-N are: Pir Aslam Bodla who elected from NA-158, Nawabzada Mazhar Ali, NA-104, Chaudhry Iftikhar Nazir, NA-159, and Zulifqar Ali Bhatti, NA-67, were formerly affiliated with the PPP. Chaudhry Ashraf from NA-161, Sardar Jafar Laghari, NA-174, Hafeezur Rehman Dareshak, NA-175, Malik Sultan Hinjra, NA-176, Syed Basit Sultan, NA-179, Syed Ali Gilani, NA-183, Riaz Hussain Pirzaada, NA-186, Mian Najeebuddin Awasi, NA-184, Alam Dad Lalika, NA-189, Tahir Bashir Cheema, NA-190, Raja Javed Ikhlas, NA-51, Malik Aitebar Khan, NA-58, Maj (r) Tahir Iqbal, NA-60, Sumaira Malik, NA-69, Col (r) Ghulam Rasool Sahi, NA-75, Muhammad Asim Nazir, NA-77, Rajab Ali Khan Baloch, NA-78, Ghulam Muhammad Lali, NA-87, Ghulam Bibi Bharwana, NA-88, Sheikh Muhammad Akram, NA-89, Azhar Qayyum Nehra, NA-100, Mian Shahid Hussain Bhatti, NA-103, Chaudhry Abid Raza, NA-107, Nasir Iqbal Bosal, NA-109, Chaudhry Armaghan Subhani, NA-111, Zahid Hamid, NA-114, Daniyal Aziz, NA-116, Rai Mansab Ali Khan, NA-137, Nadeem Abbas Raberra, NA-143, Rao Muhammad Ajmal, NA-146, Mian Moeen Wattoo, NA-147 and Sikandar Hayat Bosan, NA-151, were the members of the PML-Q who joined the PML-N. Bosan was also in the PTI.
The MNAs elected on PTI ticket from Punjab include Javed Hashmi, NA-149, formerly affiliated with PML-N, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, NA-150, was a PPP member and Rai Hassan Nawaz who won from NA-162 on PTI ticket was a part of the PML-Q. Hashmi also won a seat from Islamabad.
In Sindh, Ali Gauher Mahar elected on PPP ticket from NA-200 was a PML-Q MNA while Ghaus Bukush Mahar, NA-203 on PML-F ticket, was PML-Q Sindh president and a federal minister in the PPP coalition government. Asghar Ali Shah who elected from NA-212 on PPP ticket was a part of the PML-Q.
Nabeel Gobol who elected from NA-246 on MQM ticket was associated with the PPP.
Abdul Hakeem Baloch who elected from NA-258 on PML-N ticket was formerly affiliated with the PPP.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak who elected from NA-5 was affiliated with Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao’s defunct PPP-Sherpao and served as the KPK irrigation minister but later resigned and joined the PTI along with some colleagues.
Another PTI candidate Saleemur Rehman, elected from NA-30, was the PPP Swat president until March 2013.
