PM Nawaz Sharif calls Modi, congratulates him on success

ISLAMABAD- Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif spoke to Mr. Narendra Modi today afternoon and offered his congratulations and good wishes on the Bhartaya Janata Party's impressive victory in the just concluded general elections in India.
PM talking to Modi via telephone, invited him to Pakistan and said that Pakistan always intended to foster amicable relations with its neighboring country.
Incoming premier Narendra Modi has never been in government at national level after spending the last 13 years as chief minister of Gujarat state. The BJP becomes major political force in the Indian general election. Narendra Modi is the BJP candidate for Prime Minister Post. This was the first-ever contact between PM Sharif and Modi, the soon-to-be Indian Prime Minister. "Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also wished that BJP's victory would promote peace and stability to the region," Advisor to the PM, Sartaj Aziz said.
