Pakistan’s defence in strong hands: COAS

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has said on Thursday that defence of Pakistan is in strong hands.

The army chief stated this while talking to media persons outside the Parliament House after joint session here on Thursday.

To a question regarding violation of ceasefire by Indian troops along the Line of Control (LoC), COAS said: “There is no need to worry as the country’s defence is in strong hands and your guards are vigilant at the borders.”

While welcoming Turkish President’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan address to the joint sitting of Parliament, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif said that Pakistan has longstanding brotherly ties with Turkey and both countries always stood with each other in hour of need.

In an informal chat with media persons, COAS General Raheel Sharif said that the Turkish President’s address would further strengthen the cordial relations between the two countries.

He said government and people of Turkey always supported Pakistan on Kashmir issue. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the joint session from the core of his heart, he added.
