SIALKOT - Dozens of vehicles including cars, motorcycles, mini buses, trucks and jeeps have been rusting away at the Police Lines since long.
These vehicles have been impounded for reckless driving cases and recovered from criminals in different theft and dacoity cases by the police.
Some police officials said that most parts of these vehicles had already been "stolen" by unknown accused due to which most of these vehicles were not repairable.
Several vehicles were badly damaged in the fatal road accidents. There was no proper system of care by the police for the vehicles.
Police Inspector Khalid told the newsmen that some of the vehicles were declared as non-usable several years ago but they were still lying at the Police Lines.
He said that a detailed report of the vehicles had already been sent to the officials concerned of the police workshop at Lahore.
