Villagers kill rare dolphin

GHOTKI: Villagers in Ghotki’s Narli Minor killed a rare dolphin near Daharki on Friday after they mistook it for a monster. The dolphin had come to Narli Canal from River Indus after it lost its way. The villagers said that they did not know that the dolphin was rare and only killed it out of fear. On the other hand, a large number of people came to have a look of the dolphin following the news that the animal was a monster. The residents have also termed the man who killed the dolphin as ‘brave’. At least two persons were injured in firing by armed men in the premises of civil court in Sukkur. The police said that armed men sprayed bullets at two prisoners who were brought to Civil Court Rohri for producing before the civil judge. Both the prisoners were injured in firing of armed men who fled from the scene after committing the crime.  The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment and the police after registering a case against the attackers at respective police station started raids for their arrests.–INP
