Deal inked to reduce loadshedding

FAISALABAD - The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company and Shakarganj Sugar Mills Ltd have inked an agreement for the sale and purchase of another 2 megawatt of electricity.
The Shakarganj Sugar Mills Ltd will provide electricity at Rs8.94 per unit at Jahanian Shah Grid Station Jhang. The 2 megawatt electricity will be in addition to the 7 Megawatt of electricity already has been being provided by the mills to Fesco since 2008.
Fesco Chief Executive Officer Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan, Chief Financial Officer Muhammad Iqbal Ghori and Chief Commercial Officer Khurshid Alam inked the agreement on behalf of Fesco while from Shakarganj Sugar Mills Ltd was represented by Executive Director Ali Altaf Saleem, Senior Executive Vice President Muhammad Pervez Akhtar and Executive Vice President Saifullah. On the occasion, Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan said the agreement would help reduce the energy crisis. He said that the project would be environment-friendly and help minimise loadshedding in Jhang Circle.
He said that electricity rates were comparatively cheap, and expressed the hope that other business community should come forward and invest in alternate energy resources so that the gap between demand and supply could be bridged.
