PESHAWAR - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Sunday that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz was not in a secret deal with Pakistan People’s Party and in the prevailing situation, stance of his party was  quite clear to all. “PML-N is not going to make any deal with Pakistan People’s Party.”
“Everybody knows the party stance on different issues. I again want to make it clear that PML-N is not in any kind of a secret deal with PPP in connection with coming general elections in the country,” he remarked.
He was talking to media persons after condoling the death of PML-N leader and ex-provincial minister Anwar Kamal Marwat with his family at his residence. Anwar Kamal had passed away some days back. Prominent among those present on the occasion were PML-N central general secretary Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Provincial President Pir Sabir Shah and Mehtab Ahmad Khan. Shahbaz said he had not come here to talk politics but he was here to offer prayers for the departed soul of late Anwar Kamal, an honest leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, who had been associated with the party in very difficult times.  The death of Anwar Kamal Marwat, he said, deprived the party of a sincere leader.
Replying to a question, he said after imposition of Governor’s rule in Punjab, a bargain market for assembly members was set up to change loyalties of the lawmakers by spending national kitty. Shahbaz said if the prime minister did not accept decision of the Supreme Court despite knowing well about looting, there would be chaos in the country.
‘What message the prime minister wanted to give to the nation if he protects thieves and looters and doesn’t act as per court’s directives,” he said, adding, it would certainly ruin the country and jungle’s law would prevail everywhere, he stated.
Shahbaz maintained there would be anarchy if looters and thieves were allowed to have a field day. “It will be like giving arms in the hands of those who were hell bent upon derailing the democracy. It would also provide an opportunity to those adventurists who were against democracy,” the chief minister said.
Shahbaz said instead of ruling the country according to the dreams and principles of the Founder of the Nation Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Muhammad Iqbal, opportunities were being created to hand over the country’s reins to looters.
He was of the view that after passing the loyalty test of his party, Prime Minister Gilani should now show his loyalty to 180 million Pakistanis and write letter to the Swiss authorities on the directions of the Supreme Court, he remarked.
