ISLAMABAD- Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani has taken notice on news item captioned as “more jirga justice” and directs Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh to appear in court today at Karachi Registry. 
Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani took notice of media reports captioned as “More jirga justice” containing the details that a jirga was held in Wazirabad town of Sindh’s Shikarpur District and passed a decision in a karo-kari case.
The editorial further stated that two women of the Mahar tribe had allegedly been killed by their parents for having ‘illicit relations’ with men of the Jagirani tribe. The Jagiranis were fined a total of Rs2.4m for ‘kidnapping’ and ‘having illicit relations’ with the women.
The jirga was apparently held to settle a potentially explosive tribal dispute, but while both parties accepted its decision, astonishingly, no one was penalised for murdering the women. Even more shocking, an MNA, the PML-F’s Ghous Baksh Mahar, presided over the jirga.
Taking the cognizance, the Chief Justice of Pakistan passed the new orders that  the matter be placed before Court in Karachi on Thursday and asked IGP Sindh to persoannly appear before court.
