Court defers hearing in Ephedrine case

Rawalpindi - The Court of Narcotics Substance Control (CNSC) on Monday deferred hearing in Ephedrine quota allocation scam till October 27, 2014 owing to stay order of Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench.
CNSC Special Judge Muhammad Akhter Bahadur took up Ephedrine smuggling case against ten accused, including Syed Ali Musa Gillani, an MNA from Multan and son of former premier Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, and former federal minister Textiles and Industries Makhdoom Shihabuddin. The court postponed the hearing till October 27 because of stay order of LHC Rawalpindi bench.
During the hearing, Syed Ali Musa Gilani, Makhdoom Shihabuddin, Iftikhar Babar and Abdul Khalid did not appear before the court owing to different reasons while six others accused face the court.
The court is to indict 10 accused, including son of former premier and a former federal minister in Ephedrine case.
