The students of Government Collage of Commerce Shakargarh and their parents are perturbed due to unavailability of teachers.
As the college was handed over to the Higher Education Department by the Punjab government on May 31, 2012, the four teachers provided by the TAVTA were withdrawn by it and the collage was again deprived of the teachers.
Now the problem has become very serious and the parents are worried about the future of their children. The classrooms are seen locked and the students waste their time as no teacher or professor is available to teach them. They are forced to get tuition privately to qualify their exams. The parents have to suffer extra burden to complete their children’s education.
When asked, the principal said that he was trying his best to for the posting of required teachers in the college. The government has upgraded the collage and ordered for MCom classes but no teacher has so far been posted to teach the students.
There are only two lecturers to teach 36 subjects. The government has spent a huge amount on building but did not provide teachers to teach the students, they regretted. “We strongly protest against the situation and request the government to provide the staff to teach the student,” they sadded.
