Richard Olson meets KP governor

PESHAWAR - US Ambassador in Pakistan Richard Olson called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan at Governor House, Peshawar on Friday. He remained with the governor for sometime and discussed matters of mutual interest with special reference to the situation in the region.
Talking on this occasion, the governor welcomed the distinguished guest. Matters relating to humanitarian assistance, which the government as well as the people of United States of America have been extending for socio-economic well being of the people of the province as well as FATA especially came under discussion. The governor thanked the distinguished guest for his support and assistance in this respect.
The governor also highlighted the achievements of the government towards ensuring peace and stability in FATA in particular. He also mentioned the steps underway for taking care of the temporarily displaced persons from North Waziristan Agency and said that the humanitarian support and assistance from the world community is indeed of great help for the government in taking care of the affected people. Responding to various points, the governor said, concrete steps are underway to assess future needs for ensuring repatriation and rehabilitation of the affected people and we would welcome the generous humanitarian support from the world community in this respect as well.
