12 more killed in Karachi

KARACHI – Twelve people were killed in separate incidents of violence here on Tuesday.A man was gunned down in Golimar area within the remits of Rizvia police station.Police said that the victim Shahzad, 35, was standing near his home when unidentified armed riders came and opened fire. He died on the spot. Police shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to heirs. A young man was shot dead in Malir Khokhrapar within the jurisdiction of Malir Khokhrapar police station.Police said Nadeem, 22, was coming back home on his motorbike from somewhere when some unidentified assailants riding a motorbike intercepted him and started indiscriminate firing. He died on the spot. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem and later handed over to the family. A man was gunned down near Northern Bypass, Khairabad in Manghopir police precincts.Police said that victim Jamil Ahmed, 40, a resident of Steel Town was going somewhere on truck (LS-3358) when some unidentified armed riders intercepted his vehicle and opened fire. He died on the spot and the culprits managed to flee from the scene. The body was shifted to ASH for autopsy.A bullet-riddled body of a young man was found near Garbage Yard, Old Haji Camp within the limits of Napier police station. Police said that the victim’s identification had yet to be ascertained. Police said unidentified culprits kidnapped the victim from somewhere and later threw his body. The body was moved to morgue for identification after medicolegal formalities at Civil Hospital Karachi.A body of a man Javaid, 22, was found from Ibrahim Goth, Musharaf Colony, within the remits of Maripur police station. Police said the victim was missing from last Monday night while his body was found from the said place and later handed over to heirs after postmortem at CHK.Two bullet-riddled bodies of men were found from Baldia Town within the vicinity of SITE-B police station. Police said that the identification of the victims has yet to be ascertained. Police said some unidentified culprits kidnapped the victims from somewhere and threw the shot dead bodies after torture. The bodies were shifted of CHK for medicolegal formalities and later moved to morgue for identification. A strangulated body of a 35-years-old woman Latifa was found from her home in Mubarak village, Maripur area within the jurisdiction of Maripur police station. Police said that some unidentified culprits killed her and managed to escape from the scene. The body was moved to CHK for medicolegal formalities.A sub inspector of Crime Investigation Department was shot dead in the limits of New Karachi police station.Police said that victim cop Alamgir aka Supermarket Wala was posted in CID couple of weeks ago. He was sitting at a tyre shop located near Nagan Chowrangi. Some unknown assailants targeted him. Police suspected that the assailants targeted him from a distance and used sniper rifle to target him. Police quoted eyewitnesses as saying that he was walking and lying down suddenly on which the locals gathered and shifted him to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.  In another incident of firing, a man was shot dead by unknown assailants at University Road within the remits of Aziz Bhatti police station. Police said that the deceased Arif Rajar was passing through the Al-Mustafa Medical Centre when gunmen riding a motorbike targeted him and managed to flee. Police said the victim was nominated in a murder case of firing took place in Gizri police station. Police shifted him to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.Gunmen riding a motorbike sprayed bullets on the people sitting at Sector-E within the remits of Baloch Colony police station.Police said Rohail Aziz, Madad Ali, Qamar and Trestle sustained bullet wounds who were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where Aziz succumbed to injures while rest of them were admitted with critical wounds. Police have yet to ascertain the motive behind the incident while handed over the body to the family after autopsy. Ghulam Hazrat was shot dead was shot dead by unknown gunmen within the remits of Saeedabad police station. Police said that the deceased was a pushcart vendor. Police rushed to the spot and shifted him to the hospital. After autopsy it was handed over to heirs.
