ISLAMABAD (APP) - Pakistan is a progressive state and connecting it with the terrorism, violence and danger is unjustified, said the head of a 19-member visiting Chinese media delegation and Vice President of China Radio International, Wang Dongmei here on Sunday. Briefing the media she said: Purpose of the tour to Pakistan is to tell the world about a true Pakistan, influenced by the western media, people in other countries always connect Pakistan with the terrorism, violence and danger. However, the truth is not always as what people think of. She said: the negative side is overstated and the positive side is always overlooked. We have the mission to give a balanced perspective to the world, telling them about the real Pakistan. She said media delegations visit Pakistan was aimed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, China Radio International, or China International Broadcasting Network. The other purpose of our trip to Pakistan is to bring back what we have seen, what we have heard, what we have thought and what we have felt, especially regarding the Pakistani peoples deep friendship with the Chinese nation. She said: we will show that feeling of fraternity to our people in China and around the world through the channels of multimedia. Information and Broadcasting Secretary, Taimur Azmat Osman on the occasion said that Pakistan and China are enjoying cordial and time tested friendship. He said China has become second largest economy of the world and still making further progress in all the fields. He said the importance of Pakistan and China relations could be noted with the fact that after the taking over of PPP-led democratic government, President Asif Ali Zardari visited China six times. He said that Prime Minister Gilanis recently concluded visit to China was important as it coincided with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China. He said the recent visit of Chinese Prime Minister to Pakistan has helped further boosting the close and warm relations. The Secretary said Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan along with a media delegation will also visit China. Huang Xilian, Charge d Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, Pakistans Additional Secretary of Foreign Affairs Syed Hasan Javed also spoke on the occasion. The media delegations visit to Pakistan was aimed to mark the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan. The visit was hosted by including Chinas Embassy to Pakistan, with the support of China Radio International. The year 2011 is being marked as the China-Pakistan Friendship Year, which was declared by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Pakistani Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani during Wens visit to Pakistan in December 2010. To better reflect the friendship between China and Pakistan, China Radio International has initiated the China Pakistan River Civilisation Tour, which has been listed into the national communication project on this special occasion. The first leg of the China Pakistan River Civilisation Tour, starts from May 16 and concluded on May 26. During the visit, the Chinese media delegation had the opportunity and interviewed Governor of Sindh Province, Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, and the Chief Minister of Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, who gave their view on the 60 years friendship between China and Pakistan. The delegation visited the Karachi Shipyard, Haier-Ruba Industrial Zone, and Kamra Aeronautical Complex. They have also experienced the splendid civilisation in Pakistan, including the Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi, Badshai Mosque, Lahore Fort and Lahore Museum and the Jaulian Monastery site in Taxila.
