Ex-CJP Afzal Zullah dies

LAHORE - Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Muhammad Afzal Zullah passed away in Lahore on Friday morning.
Justice Zullah was a prominent judicial figure and a renowned jurist who had full faith in the supremacy of Constitution and rule of law. He was a strong supporter and advocate of enforcement of fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution. His Namaz-e-Janaza was offered at Khalid Masjid, Cavalry Ground, Lahore. He was buried at his native town in Pothi Bajneyal near Mandra in Rawalpindi District. 
Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, judges and staff of the Supreme Court have expressed their deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Justice Zullah.
Chief Justice Iftikhar said his services as a jurist and an eminent lawyer and judge will be remembered and emulated by the generations of lawyers to come.
He prayed that may Allah rest his soul in eternal peace and give courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
