GILGIT  (Staff Reporter): The traditional Ginani festival celebrated on Saturday in Shalt lower part of Nagir valley in Gilgit-Baltistan with traditional zeal and favour. Thousands of people, including foreigners and local tourists, participated in the unique traditional festivities. Performance of cultural rituals, folk dances and music enthralled the visitors.

Ginani festival was being celebrated to mark the beginning of a new harvesting season with great happiness because the community of Gilgit-Baltistan mostly dependent on farming during winter season.

Speaking on the occasion, a cultural expert said that it was the duty of every citizen to promote cultural activities. “We can attract more foreign tourists to the region by arranging such events frequently,” he added.
