QWP lambastes PTI-led govt in KP over deteriorating law, order

PESHAWAR- Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) parliamentary leader in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao today criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government for absolving itself of the responsibility to maintain law and order.

He was speaking at a meeting of party’s district organisers to review arrangements for the upcoming intra-party elections at Watan Kor, the central secretariat of QWP in Hayatabad. Sikandar Sherpao said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sensitive and Vulnerable Establishments and Places (Security) Ordinance, 2014 was against the spirit of the Constitution, which guaranteed protection to the citizens.“The government must not shirk responsibility and take steps to provide protection to the people,” he stressed.

He said the provincial government had failed to give any relief to the people in the face of rising inflation. “The PTI rulers have been unable to honour the pledges they made before the May 11 general election,” he remarked. Sikandar Sherpao said the flawed policies of the provincial government had compounded the woes being faced by the people. He said there was a sense of deprivation among the people as they were grapping with a host of problems. “The PTI rulers are least bothered to mitigate the sufferings of the poor,” he lamented.
