Saulat Mirza to be hanged on 1st April

Karachi- Authorities today issued ‘black warrants’ for death row prisoner Saulat Mirza to finally send him to gallows on 1st April in Balochistan.
Mirza was sentenced to death by an anti-terrorism court in May 1999 for a triple homicide. He was convicted for killing Managing Director of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation, now K-Electric,  Shahid Hamid, his driver Ashraf Brohi, and security guard Khan Akbar in a July 1997 shooting. In April 2014, he was transferred to Machh Jail, Balochistan, to be hanged. His execution scheduled for March 19 was postponed for 72 hours following his shocking video statement that created waves in country’s politics.
