PAT preparing for bigger battle against govt

Qadri woos PP-48 voters - | Says he will surrender to police if PM, CM arrested in Model Town mayhem case

BHAKKAR - PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahirul Qadri on Sunday asked the people to destroy the system if the rulers fail to deliver, and wooed the PP-48 voters with various promises for by-poll.
Addressing a gathering at Jamil Stadium, Bhakkar district, he also appealed to the crowd to vote for PAT candidate Nazar Abbas for the November 29 by-polls in the district. He said that the by-polls were in fact a preparing ground for a bigger battle that was yet to come. He said, “We are protesting against the corrupt and oppressive government.”
He said that his party workers were being slaughtered in Balochistan and the government of Balochistan was doing nothing to stop their killing. The killers, he alleged, came on vehicles having government numberplates and flew away after committing murders. He added that the government had no right to rule the people. According to an investigation report, he said, the government was responsible for the killing of innocent persons in Model Town but the review committee had declared clean-chit to the government.
The government had promised that gas prices would not be increased but it reneged on the promise by increasing up to 30 percent and this was another lie on the part of government, he said. He added that 90-day Islamabad sit-in awakened the people of Pakistan and promised the attendees that if his party ever formed the national government, they would change the entire system.
He said, “We will change this corrupt system.” He added that they would divide the palaces of the feudal lords and build homes for the homeless. He maintained the corrupt rulers had looted the country’s treasure for more than 65 years and oppressed the poor.
He had asked his supporters to remain peaceful and speaking to media representatives from inside the aircraft said, “The righteous shall win.” He said that he was willing to surrender to police if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif were arrested in relation to the Model Town.
Earlier, the District administration had chalked out a security plan for the gathering. The workers of PAT decorated the Stadium with 10,000 chairs for the audience. On his way to Bhakkar, Qadri reached Darya Khan at about 2.00 pm and addressed the people at Fawara Chowk Darya Khan where he convinced the gathering to support the PAT candidate. Bi-election is going to be held on November 29, 2014 at PP-48 constituency, and the PAT will contest the poll.
