Kiln owner sodomises minor labourer

HAFIZABAD
A minor brick-kiln worker was sodomised by an influential landlord and brick kiln owner in village Rahgo Syedan here on Sunday.
According to police source, victim Ijaz Ahmad Herl, a resident of Pindi Bawray was working at a brick-kiln owned by Asghar Ali Shah and Fayyaz Shah in Rahgo Syedan. Three days back accused Fayyaz Shah allegedly served intoxicated food to the victim and criminally assaulted him. When condition of the boy deteriorated, the accused abandoned him in a deserted place and managed to escape. However, the police have registered a case against the fiendish landlord and arrested him accordingly.
Meanwhile, the parents of victim have alleged that some politicians of the area were harassing them to withdraw the case and also pressurising the police to discharge the case against the accused Fayyaz Shah. They have appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister and the Hafizabad DPO to take strict action against the politicians who were patronising the accused.
TB DOST PROGRAMME: Addressing a TB Dost Programme ceremony, Dr Zubair Ahmad, representative of TB Control Programme Pakistan and EDO (Health) Dr Naseer Ahmad Kahlon said that TB was no more an incurable disease and the Health Department had facilitated TB patients to get test and medicines free of cost. They further said that arrangements were being made to provide free medicines to five hundred TB patients in the district. The advised the patients to avail the facility and take medicines according to the advice of the physicians for full course to relieve themselves from this white menace.
