ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday suffered another blow after NA-153 as the Supreme Court (SC) de-seated Iftikhar Cheema as Member of National Assembly (MNA) from NA 101 Gujranwala for concealing facts while filing nomination forms.
The apex court ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to de-notify Iftikhar Cheema, who was elected as MNA on PML-N ticket from Gujranwala, for not providing information regarding his bank accounts.
It may be added that the Supreme Court on Thursday ordered re-election in NA-153 Vehari, dismissing the plea of PML-N’s Dewan Ashiq upholding election tribunal’s verdict for re-polling for concealment of assets and holding fake degree which was challenged by rival PPP candidate.
