ISLAMABAD: Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council and Member National Assembly Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani has shown extreme concerns overr the media reports regarding the arrest of Indian spy agency “RAW” agent in Balochistan.

Talking to the media outside Parliament House today, he termed the incident as conspiracy against the Pak-India peace process, and regretted that whenever there is some hope for peace, such incidents start to happen with a purpose to fulfill the vested interests. 

“Nawaz Sharif and Narendra Modi, Prime Ministers of both sides should join hands to carry joint investigations against elements behind such unwanted incidents,” he urged. 

Following the good gesture shown by PM Nawaz Sharif after the PathanKot attack, Indian PM Modi also must make a telephonic call to his counterpart regarding his viewpoint on the media reports of Indian spy captured in Balochsitan and to offer joint investigation on this sensitive issue, he said.

Dr. Ramesh Vankwani called the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as the bright future of whole region, and said that cooperation from the Government of China could also be beneficial for investigating the alleged spy. Answering another question, he lauded the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for his active role to celebrate the Hindu festival “Holi”, and termed this a positive sign for promotion of interfaith harmony in the country.

However, he urged the PPP to present constitutional amendment bill in the Parliament for providing the equal opportunities to the minorities to contest for high-level government posts, including PM, and President of Pakistan. “I will be first to vote in favor of such amendment bill,” Dr. Ramesh assured.

Moreover, Pakistan Hindu Council also expressed grief on the spurious liquor tragedy in the Southern Sindh province during Holi celebrations in which 45 Hindus lost their lives. In this regard, Dr. Ramesh Vankwani also demanded for the immediate dismissal of the provincial Excise Minister, calling him responsible for this tragedy. 

“Usage of alcohol is prohibited in every religion, including Hinduism, and Pakistan Hindu Council has demanded a number of times for complete ban on the sale and purchase of alcohol in the name of minorities,” he concluded.
