ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage (IB&NH) Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s decision of appointing General Qamar Bajwa as Chief of the Army Chief (COAS) was a sagacious decision.

The minister for information in a statement here on Saturday said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had selected General Raheel Sharif as COAS who implemented his (PM's) plans for war against terrorism by undertaking Operation Zarb-e-Azb, Karachi operation and National Action Plan (NAP) in a very effective manner.

She hoped that Gen Bajwa would ensure continuation of the policies of his predecessor. Today's decision was manifestation of the fact that the institutions were becoming strong and stable, Marriyum added.
