Gunmen shoot, injure two near hospital

our staff reporter FEROZEWALA Masked gunmen wounded two people sitting near the parking lot of DHQ Hospital Friday. Unidentified armed motorcyclists attack injured retired health official Chacha Sharif and his friend who were sitting near the parking lot of the hospital. The injured were shifted to the DHQ Hospital where Sharifs condition was stated to critical. The incident triggered panic among the people there. The motive behind the firing could not be ascertained as yet. The A-Division Police were investigating. A local welfare body president, HGR Shahzad, condemned the incident and demanded enhanced security around the hospital to avoid such attacks in future. Altercation: After an altercation between two religious groups, DCO Ibrar Mirza ordered the personnel concerned to seal a mosque in Bihari Colony. The DCO passed the orders after dispute erupted between two religious groups. Crackdown on profiteering: Assistant Commissioner Rashid Irshad along with TOR and other staffers conducted raids in various areas. The raiding team caught red-handed nine shopkeepers, fined them and sent them to jail for fleecing people and selling substandard edibles. The AC warned the shopkeepers against profiteering and sale of unhygienic meat.
