Riaz Fatyana quits PML-Q

ISLAMABAD - MNA Riaz Fatyana has announced to quit the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid while many others have been busy packing their stuff to leave this party which, in their view, is not able to promise them a better political future. Fatyana is learnt to have differences with his party leadership and he finally decided to part with it.
Confirming his departure from Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain-led PML-Q on Tuesday, Fatyana maintained the party had made him useless and never provided him the chance to use his abilities for development of the country. He was of the view that one could not sustain at a place, where party leadership undermined one’s abilities and did not provide one a portfolio where he could make the difference. The MNA said he had informed his party leadership about his decision but they never have had the time to address his reservations.
“Once Chaudhry Wajahat promised me that I would be appointed party’s chief organizer, but that day never dawned,” the MNA recalled, and said there were many false promises made to him. “Time will tell whether the PML-Q will suffer because of my resignation,” he remarked.
Fatyana further said he had not yet decided about his next political affiliation although there had been offers from several parties.
He said he would make a decision regarding this after thorough deliberations. He however added that in the past, he either won as an independent candidate or from the PML-Q platform. Fatyana also said he did not mean he could not join the PPP or any other party as the manifesto of all the parties bore a striking resemblance. He said he had not declared any party a ‘no go area’. “I have my personal vote bank and can contest election on my own,” he said. The MNA further said he had intimated his party leadership about his reservations a month ago, but they did not pay any heed.
Earlier, speaking outside the Parliament House, Fatyana said the people of his constituency would decide what strategy to adopt for the next elections.
