Help of all lawmakers needed to better Sindh affairs: Murad Ali Shah

KARACHI:  Pakistan People’s Party’s nominee for Chief Minister, Murad Ali Shah has said that assistance of every single lawmaker irrespective of his/her belonging to the government or the opposition would be required to solve issues in the province.

While talking to the media Wednesday after meeting late Makhdoom Amin Faheem’s son, Shah said that he would try to go to every member of the provincial assembly for guidance. He would try to solve issues in the province to his best abilities, Shah said.

The Chief Minister-designate reduced notion believed by many of affairs of the Sindh government being run from outside the country to mere speculation and said that he would prove the notion wrong once he assumed charge as Chief Minister of Sindh.

The province is facing several challenges while the biggest of those is unrest and extremist attacks, Finance Minister said.

First priority of Sindh government after he is elected as the Chief Minister would be to straighten law and order situation, he said adding that in social sectors, health and education departments are needed to bring changes in among other departments.

Ratification of Rangers stay is a requirement of the law under Article 147 of the Constitution however, Murad Ali Shah said that PPP’s reservations would be addressed soon and people should consider Rangers issue as a resolved matter.

He vowed to uplift governance to a level that people of the province vote for Pakistan People’s Party in General Elections 2018.

Murad Ali Shah was nominated as party’s candidate for Chief Minister vacancy earlier by Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah paid a visit to former president Asif Ali Zardari in Dubai before Murad Ali Shah’s nomination was formally announced.
