Bodies of 2 students entrapped under avalanche recovered in Chitral

CHITRAL: Bodies of two more students buried under avalanche in Chitral were recovered today, while the search five other was still in progress.

A massive avalanche fell on a group of school children returning home after exams on March19 afternoon near the village of Susom, some 40 kilometres north of the town of Chitral in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

After operation which continued on ninth consecutive day, the rescuers have been able to pull out four bodies, including three students which five were still missing.

The rescuers said that there were no chances of survival of those entrapped under the avalanche.

It should be mentioned that National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) personnel’s special team, Chitral Scouts, police, Levies and residents are participating in rescue process. The teams are digging in the snow with spades and shovels to find the victims.
