Sherpao asks party’s MPAs to serve masses

PESHAWAR - Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao on Sunday congratulated his party’s newly elected members of the provincial assembly and asked them to serve the masses of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without any discrimination.
This he said while chairing a meeting of QWP leaders and office-bearers at the central secretariat of the party in Hayatabad. The participants had come from all over the province to attend the meeting. Those who showed up at the meeting included the party’s newly elected members of the provincial assembly and the candidates. QWP Provincial Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao was also present on the occasion. The meeting reviewed the party’s performance in the May 11 general elections wherein the participants made suggestions to rejuvenate the party at the grassroots level.
The meeting unanimously decided to form a two-member committee led by QWP Secretary General Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli to hold consultation with divisional and district level office-bearers of the party to come up with a solid strategy to strengthen the party.
Speaking at the meeting, Aftab Sherpao asked the newly elected MPAs to wholeheartedly serve the masses. He said that strict action would be taken against the party’s MPA or ministers if they were found involved in corrupt practices.
He said that the country in general and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the tribal areas in particular were passing through a critical phase. He said that the ill-conceived policies of the former rulers had pushed the country to the brink of disaster.
Aftab Sherpao said the Pakhtun nation had been exposed to a host of problems due to the flawed policies of the so-called champions of the Pakhtun rights. He said that his party would spare no effort to steer the country out of the prevailing crisis.
The QWP chief asked the office-bearers of the party to foster unity among their ranks and take the party’s message to every household so that all progressive and democratic forces could be united on a single platform.
