NOORPUR THAL - The city received heavy rain the other morning, disturbing normal routine life as the rainwater inundated roads in low-lying areas. The Noorpur Thal observatory system have forecast more rains with intervals during the next 3-4 days. The short bursts of clouds submerged roads and streets in several localities into knee-deep water. Rainwater on roads and roadsides added to the woes and miseries of motorists and pedestrians. Massive traffic jams were witnessed on a number of roads. Several incidents of skidding of motorcycles were also reported from various parts of the city. The rains and windy conditions provided respite to the citizens from the muggy weather in the morning though the sky remained covered with thick clouds almost throughout the day, lack of winds. The local Meteorological Department has forecast party cloudy weather with chances of rain for Thal during the next couple of days. On the other hand, the poor sewerage system in city has created several problems for the citizens. They demanded the authorities concerned to revamp the sewerage system.
