Punjab Secy fires 10 forest officials






SARGODHA - The Punjab secretary (forest) dismissed 12 officials of the Forest Department of Sargodha Division on the charges of embezzlement of over Rs30.8 million and logging worth Rs100 million.
The embezzlement of national asset had been revealed at the Forest Department officials at district Bhakkar. Secretary Forest Maj (r) Shahnawaz formed a high lever inquiry committee to probe and sought a report.  On the recommendation of the inquiry committee, he dismissed Muhammad Usman, the Forest Range Officer, Muhammad Hanif, the forester and guards Muhammad Suleman, Muhammad Ramzan, Soba Khan, Maskeenullah, Ziaul Haq, Muhammad Nadeem, Abdul Sattar, Yasir Abbas, Tanveer Hussain and Naseer Ahmed.
He also order to confiscate the 5-year service of Divisional Forest Officer Qazi Ilyas Bashir and banned his further appointment at any forest circle or forest division for three years whereas, three other employees had been exonerated from the charges.
Victim’s heirs seek justice: The relatives of the women who was burnt alive by his husband after receiving bullet injuries at village 134/NB, staged a protest and demanded justice.
Complainant Muhammad Khan, a brother of Faizan Bibi, said that accused Umer Hayat had killed his sister on the behest of Akram, Sarwar and Ansar.  They also demanded that the accused should be tried under the Anti-Terrorism Act due to its circumstances. On the other hand, the police sources said that all the culprits had been apprehended and the investigation was under.
