Goldsmiths ‘behind’ separation

ISLAMABAD - Former British wife Jemima Khan and her family (Goldsmiths) are believed to have spoiled the second love marriage of Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan with Rehman Khan nearly two months ahead of their celebrating the first wedding anniversary, sources said Friday.
Background discussions and interviews with various sources privy to this tragic end of the love story believed that Imran Khan’s first love Jemima Khan and her family played a key role through Imran Khan’s two sons Sulaiman Isa Khan and Qasim Khan in forcing their father to divorce his second wife Reham Khan.
Tale of the tragedy came to an end after almost two years when Imran Khan met Reham Khan at his Bani Gala House and decided to tie the knot, incidentally at a time when Imran Khan was at peak of his political struggle to reach the power corridor through 2013 general elections.
Information available with The Nation suggests that Sulaiman Isa Khan and Qasim Khan were sent to Pakistan by their mother in August last year to upset the plans of their father to marry Reham Khan ostensibly by participating in PTI’s unprecedented protest sit-in in front of the Parliament House to force Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step down for alleged rigging the elections. Still, Imran Khan and Reham Khan continued with their plans and eventually married thus sparking a turf war between the first and second wives and their families. Imran Khan’s sisters were also dragged in and his love saga with Rehman Khan finally came to a tragic end on Friday.
According to informed sources, Sulaiman Isa Khan and Qasim Khan revisited Bani Galla couple of months back when Reham Khan was left with no option but to move to a local five-star hotel with her own children. “Those were the moments Reham Khan decided to seek divorce,” a source told The Nation requesting not to be named for the sensitivity of the matter.
She drew her own parallels leading to an end of her relationship with Imran Khan. According to her family sources in Hazara region, she would soon make the details of the end of her second love marriage.
The drop scene of Reham Khan’s love marriage is believed to have an adverse impact on political life of her ex-second husband especially in KP where his party is in power.
