Education not motorways builds nations, says Imran

SWAT - Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Imran Khan yesterday said that nations can be built through education and not by announcing motorways.

“Over 10 million children are out of schools and the prime minister is making announcements of building motorways,” he stated this while addressing a massive public gathering at Grassi Ground Mingora.

Referring to the speech of the PM at Mingora, Imran Khan said that new Pakhtunkhwa could not be seen from helicopter but one has to come on ground to judge it. “The PTI government is spending a big portion of its financial resources on education and it is the Pakistan’s first provincial government which has increased its educational budget manifolds,” Imran Khan claimed. He alleged that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been ruling the country and its biggest Punjab province for the last three decades but he did not bring reforms in any single government institution.

He accused Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of destroying all institutions and looted the public money and got huge assets aboard. “How can we as foreigners to invest in Pakistan when the premier’s sons are sending money abroad,” he questioned.

Reacting to allegations of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his cabinet members, Imran Khan said: “If we are corrupt then start investigation against arrest us.” He said that if his party comes to power will not level allegations against corrupt people but will arrest and put them behind bars. He said that they would hold the country’s powerful looters accountable. “Even if we have to go alone against corruption, we will go ahead, he added.

Imran Khan blamed the federal government for destroying the infrastructure of Swat valley, adding after Panama Leaks Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif started paying attention towards the destroyed road of Kalam and also announced other development schemes.

He said that the PTI government brought reforms in health and education sectors and very soon general public will feel the real change.

About the Shaukat Khanum hospital, he said: “It is a hospital where facilities of international standard are available.”

“I do not rush abroad for my personal health treatment but PM Nawaz Sharif, his associates and family members frequently move aboard for medical checkup clearly indicating that here in Pakistan no medical facilities of international standard are available in hospitals and the poor are left in very odd conditions,” he added.

He told that at present Pakistan is among the eight countries where global warming issue is very serious as our entire agriculture, plants, and resources are at a very serious risk but the federal government is playing the role of a salient spectator.

In contrast, he said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken a number of steps to meet the challenges of climatic change by launching billions trees programme and Green Khyber Pakhtunkhwa campaign. About reforms in police department, the PTI chief maintained. “I am feeling proud to say that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police force is a model police in the country. He said that corruption has been eliminated from the police department.

He also cited arrest of the killers of Sardar Soran Singh within 24 hours, adding it reflects improvement in efficiency of the police.

SWAT UNIVERSITY’S REINAUGURATION, PROOF OF IMRAN’S SWINDLING: MUQAM

APP adds: Adviser to the Prime Minister Engineer Amir Muqam on Sunday said the reinauguration of Swat University, which was earlier inaugurated in 2009, by PTI chief Imran Khan was the clear proof of his politics of ‘lies and swindling’.

Amir Muqam, in a statement issued in Islamabad, said it would have been better for Imran Khan to inaugurate that department of the university where his party’s Member of the National Assembly solved a paper and got its result within an hour.

Commenting on Imran Khan’s public rally held in Swat, he said the show was flopped despite using public resources and calling in party workers from across the country, because the PTI had nothing to deliver to the public.

Amir Muqam said Imran Khan was against the construction of motorways, which were meant for facilitating the common man, as he himself was leading a comfortable life and had Jehangir Tareen’s plane and helicopter to travel.

He said the PTI had nothing for the general public except lies, fraud and allegations. All the promises he (Imran) made with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were proven wrong, he added.

According to the Provincial Director General Accountability, he said around 60 percent budget was taken away in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, asking Imran Khan to answer it.
