Killings in IHK India's 'internal matter': US

WASHINGTON The United States has expressed regrets at the loss of live during the ongoing anti-India protests in the occupied Kashmir, but termed the deteriorating situation in the Indian Kashmir as internal Indian matter. It is an internal Indian matter. We respect the efforts of the Government of India to investigate and resolve the current situation in Kashmir, he added. Toner said the United States stood for a dialogue between India and Pakistan to resolve their differences, when asked whether Kashmir should be discussed at the upcoming talks between foreign ministers of the two countries in Islamabad. In terms of the protest in occupied Kashmir, he said, we would just urge everyone to refrain from violence and conduct protest in a free and peaceful manner.
