NAWABSHAH (INP) - Unidentified armed men gunned down former president of District Bar Association, Ali Muhmmad Dahri on Thursday. According to police, unknown assailants opened fire at member Sindh Bar Council (SBC) while he was on his way to home, killing him on the spot. Police reached the scene and launched search operation after cordoning off the area but the attackers manage to flee. Meanwhile, tension gripped the entire area after the death of Advocate Dahri. Markets and shopping centres were closed after the incident. Hundreds of enraged citizens including members of bar and lawyers took to the streets and held protest demonstrations against the killing of Dahri. They criticised the law-enforcement authorities for failure in giving protection to public and property. Meanwhile, the SBC and District Bar Nawabshah have condemned the targeted killing of their colleague. They demanded of the provincial government and concerned law-enforcement authorities to nab the culprits and award exemplary punishment to them.
