Muzaffar Warsi dies

LAHORE - Pride of performance, famous poet and naatkhawan Muzaffar Warsi passed away on Friday evening after protracted illness. He was 88. Muzaffar Warsi, whose real name was Muhammad Muzaffarud Din Sadiqqui, was born in a religious family of Alhaaj Muhammad Sharifud Din Ahamd known as Sufi Warsi on December 20, 1933 in the Indian city of Merath. While talking to The Nation, Hafeez Warsi, son of Muzaffar Warsi, told that his father had been suffering from multiple diseases for the last two years and on Friday evening, he suddenly fell unconscious and died on way to hospital. His Namaz-e-Janaza will be offered on Saturday (today) at 297-A-3 Johar Town at 8:30am. His ultimate collections included hamd and naat poetry.
