Ganjera’s ‘travel plan’ behind poor Pakistan show

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Sports Board Director General Dr Akhtar Nawaz should be held accountable for Pakistani contingents’ worst showings in the 12th South Asian Games currently underway in India.
Ganjera is the one who picked such tiring long routes, which left players high and dry after travelling 36 to 48 hours and that had destroyed players chances in the SAG. Highly placed sources had confirmed to this scribe that had Ganjera picked Malaysia, instead of Abu Dhabi or Qatar, it would have been the best and suited Pakistani contingent as it would have only 5-hour flight for Malaysia and then only two-hours flight to Kolkata and it could have cost much cheaper.
But reasons best known to Ganjera, he chose long route for personal gains through travel agents. The national exchequer is being plundered with both hands and it seemed nobody bothers about seeking explanation from high-flying DG PSB. The players were given only $20 daily allowances, while on the other hand PSB and IPC officials enjoy countless benefits. These double standards should be immediately stopped and justice should be provided to players and coaches, who gave out their hearts and win medals for the country. But in return they are completely ignored when it comes to reaping benefits are concerned.
