NEW DELHI  - As India renews its bilateral cricketing ties with Pakistan after five long years, the arch rivals are looking to take a leaf out of their former skipper Inzamamul Haq's book on how to beat India. Inzamam therefore has been appointed as a batting consultant ahead of the series and has worked with them during a week-long camp in Lahore.
Inzamamul Haq gave many a sleepless nights to Indian bowlers over the years. The former Pakistan skipper's CV reads- four one day centuries and over 2000 one day runs against India - led Pakistan in 22 ODIs with a win ratio of 12:10 vs India.
No wonder then that the Cricket Board thought Inzamam was the perfect man to help Pakistan beat the batting blues against India. The former skipper joined the team as a batting consultant during their camp in Lahore last week and has already started working on a master plan to beat their arch rivals. He said: "I have been discussing with the players how to chase, how to set the target and what's required from the batsmen."
The last time Pakistan participated in a T20 tournament was the ICC event in Sri Lanka where the team reached the semis but came out second best against India. The green brigade this time however, is hoping Inzamam's experience will help them change the previous outcome. Pakistan's ODI skipper Misbahul Haq says: "The biggest advantage was getting to share the experiences of someone like Inzamam, specially his exploits against Ind. He helped the players prepare mentally for the series."
"He shared his experiences against India and how to tackle the opposition. We enjoyed his presence in the camp and made the most of it. He was physically involved and that was a very good thing."
