Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has appreciated the performance of Army Elections Support Centre (AESC) during the general election.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement the COAS, while chairing the 122nd Corps Commanders Conference in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, acknowledged efforts of AESC and field formations for assisting Election Commission of Pakistan for the conduct of the general election.
General Bajwa also paid tribute to all the martyrs and injured who shed their blood during the election process.
The forum also thanked the 'brave people of Pakistan for their participation, love and support for the armed forces' during their duty towards the national cause, the ISPR statement further read.

The conference also reviewed the geo-strategic environment, regional peace and internal security situation of the country.
The army chief directed corps commanders to continue consolidating gains of efforts against terrorism and militancy.

ISPR stated, the top army officers expressed their satisfaction on the progress of military-level engagements with Afghanistan for regional peace, especially through the Afghanistan Pakistan Action Plan for Peace & Stability (APAPPS).
