Rawalpindi railways reservation office upgraded

Rawalpindi - Chairperson Ministry of Railways Parveen Agha inaugurated the upgraded reservation office at Rawalpindi Railway Station on Thursday to help the passengers purchase tickets effortlessly.

The old reservation office has been refurbished and upgraded to provide improved services to nearly 4,000 passengers who use rail service from Rawalpindi Railway Station to reach their destinations on daily basis. The passengers purchase tickets amounting to Rs3.5 million daily on an average from the main reservation office. The improved office has also been made centrally air-conditioned.

Latest digital monitors and electronic boards have been installed at the office. Laptops have been provided to the reservation clerks. The renovation, including civil and electric works, cost around Rs2 million.

The old reservation office had been inaugurated by Muhammad Khan Junejo, the then railways minister, in 1979.
