Rawalpindi retain Inter Board Girls title

 

ISLAMABAD –Nymra, helped Rawalpindi Board to retain All-Pakistan Inter Board Girls Netball championship-2018 title as she along with Madiha played instrumental role to help holders edge out Hyderabad Board 15-13 in the final played here Friday. Lahore grabbed third and Islamabad 4th spots respectively. Pakistan Netball Federation chairman Capt (R) Zafar Iqbal Awan, MPA Abida Raja were the guest of honour while Director Sports Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sobia Sultana Chaudhry, Director Sports Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Fauzia Mehroof, Vice President Women Wing Pakistan Netball Federation Ashia Arian President Islamabad Netball Association Col (R) Ghulam Murtaza Shah, Secretary General Punjab Netball Association Ch Muhammad Rizwan and others were also present n the occasion. The final started on a very fast pace and soon, it were Hyderabad girls who were dictating terms and leading 7-3 at one stage. But Nymra came to rescue the champions with stunning display of form as she scored 11 goals while Madiha scored 4 goals to lead Rawalpindi to victory. For Hyderabad Board Sohawa scored 9 goals and Sanam scored 4 goals. Earlier, in the third place play offs, Lahore beat Islamabad 17-11. Amna scored all the 17 goals for the winners while Fareeha scored 6 and Hamna scored 5 goals for the losers.–Staff Reporter
