KARACHI – Prof Dr Qamarul Haq, Registrar of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) on Thursday said that the academic and non-academic staff of the university welcome Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal as new vice-chancellor of the FUUAST.
He said that the university staff would work shoulder-to-shoulder with new chief of the varsity. It is pertinent to mention here that President Asif Ali Zardari has recently approved the appointment of Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal as the VC of the FUUAST.
The appointment of Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal was approved by the Search Committee constituted under the convener-ship of the Chairman, Higher Education Commission and was subsequently recommended by the Senate of the FUUAST.
Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal is presently Meritorious Professor and Dean of the Faculties of Arts and Education in the University of Karachi.
The FUUAST Registrar applauded the efforts of Prof Dr Muhammad Qaiser, former VC of FUUAST.
