SALU teachers’ hunger strike enters fourth day

KHAIRPUR : The hunger strike of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) teachers against ‘corruption’ entered fourth day on Wednesday.

According to detail, the protesters led by Professor Ishart Meerani, Dr Meenhoon Khan Laghari, Professor Ameer Saheto, Professor Noor Muhammad Shah Professor, Dr Iram Rani, Professor Shamroze Saheto, Professor Muhammad Ali Birohi and others stage a sit-in protest in front of the vice chancellor’s office. Talking to media, they alleged that the corruption had increased manifold after the appointment of Vice Chancellor Dr Perveen Shah. They demanded promotions, release of pensions of teachers, issued MPhil degrees, removed senior chairpersons of various departments. They said their struggle would be continued till the acceptance of their demands. Meanwhile, leaders of social coordination organisation of Khairpur Advocate Ali Ahmed Mmeon, Advocate Imdad Ali Khamisani, Noor Ahmed Noor Muhammad Tunio,  Fayaaz Ali Khamesani, Advocate Amanullah Mangi, Advocate Mumtaz Ali Rid and others protested in front of press club and urged the vice chancellor to resolve the issues.
