SIALKOT - The District Council expressed complete solidarity with the Indian shelling-hit people by unanimously passing a condemnation resolution against the brutal killings of the innocent Pakistanis in the border villages.
In the recent unprovoked intensified mortar shelling from Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) on Sialkot border villages, it had targeted the civilian population along the Sialkot Working Boundary.
Convener/Vice Chairman Ch Raza Subhani presided over the session held at Anwar Club Auditorium. The house also unanimously passed the resolution regarding the maximum financial compensation by the Sialkot District Council for the grieved families of the Indian shelling victims, who were martyred, injured or whose cattle were also killed or injured in the shelling.
District Council Chairperson Hina Arshad Warraich told newsmen that the house also unanimously passed several other resolutions regarding the protection of District Council’s assets in the shape of buildings, protection of the forest department’s trees in the jurisdiction of the District Council, auction of the dried up trees, fixing of the weight limit on the dumper vehicles with proper mechanism and promotion of the healthy activities including sports in the district at union council level.
Meanwhile, District Council Chairperson Hina Arshad Warraich reviewed the pace of construction of all the under completion development schemes in Sialkot district.
During a meeting of the senior officials, the chairperson also directed the officials concerned to ensure timely completion of all the developmental projects. She said that a penalty would be imposed on such contractors for remaining failed in timely completion of their allotted development schemes i n the district.
HIna Arshad Warraich also directed the officials to take stern legal action against illegal construction of commercial buildings and ensure the achievement of the official target of commercialisation fee collection,.
