Sargodha - Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Senator Sirajul Haq has said thatruling elite has put the nation under slavery of international lending
“Past and the present rulers have put the national integrity and economy at stake by borrowing huge amount from the World Bank and the IMF. The masses are on the receiving end,” he said while addressing a huge gathering at Company Bagh on Sunday.
People from all walks of life including women and children participated in the event aimed at mobilizing masses against rising inflation, unemployment and corruption.
The participants continued waving national and JI flags during the proceedings. They chanted slogans against the rulers and in favor of JI leadership. JI Northern Punjab Emir Dr Tariq
Saleem, JI Information Secretary Qaisar Sharif and JI Youth Pakistan President Zubair Gondal were also present on occasion.
Senator Siraj said that Prime Minister Imran Khan promised bringing real change but failed to deliver. What to say of health and education, when
the masses were not getting even portable water, he said, adding the PM continued talking about not giving NRO when even the flour was not in the reach of the common man.
“People want food and not hollow slogans and false promises.”
The PM, he said, had taken so much U-Turns that now it was difficult to count. He (Imran Khan) miserably failed on every front, said Sirajul Haq. The ruling elite should understand that their days were numbered as people were no more ready to sit silent, he said. The time, he said, had come to get rid of the decades old corrupt system.
“The masses will not let the rulering flee. They [rulers] will be held accountable for their misdeeds.”
A durable Islamic democratic society was the only solution to prevailing crises, he said, urging the masses to support the JI struggle for achieving the destination.
