Capital beggars to be booked

ISLAMABAD  - The Islamabad police on Monday announced launching campaign against professional alm-seekers in the Capital territories. According to a spokesperson of Islamabad Capital Territory police, the Islamabad police had decided to launch aggressive campaign against professional alm-seekers during the holy month of Ramazan and to arrest those begging outside worship places and shopping centers. It was not first time that police announced to kick off campaign against these beggars. In the past, police had arrested a number of them during many campaigns; however, the capital city was not clear of them. This time, the police planned to register cases against the professional beggars, while the children might end up in child-care centers.
"As a part of campaign, police plans to register cases against the professional beggers. While children will be sent to Edhi and child care centers," Public Relation Officer of ICT police Muhammad Naeem said. A press note issued from the office of SSP Islamabad Ali Nekokara quoted him as directing SDPOs to ensure elaborate security arrangements during Ramazan and also asked patrolling officers to take action against professional beggars in their respective jurisdictions.
